What if I need another kind of treatment?
The aim of your chemotherapy is to control your cancer and help you to feel as well as possible for as long as possible. Unfortunately, even at its best, chemotherapy may not control it indefinitely. If your doctor thinks you need other treatment (such as surgery or radiotherapy to control symptoms) during the trial it will be offered to you. This may mean you have to stop the trial treatment, but in certain cases you may be able to carry on.
