Can I still have treatment after the trial?

If your cancer starts to develop after your trial treatment has ended, you may still be offered further chemotherapy. A chemotherapy drug called mitomycin is being recommended for people who have taken part in the trial.

Even if you are not well enough, or do not want to have more chemotherapy, any symptoms you are having can be treated. CancerBACUP has further information about controlling pain and other symptoms of cancer, which explain the different ways in which symptoms can be treated. The sections also give information on the type of support that is available from health professionals and other sources. If you have advanced cancer there are many difficult issues to deal with and you may find CancerBACUP’s information on coping with advanced cancer helpful.
