How long will the study last?
The trial could take up to five years to produce any results. Until the results are known your doctor will continue to give you the treatment which seems best for you. Once you are taking part in this trial your doctor will continue to collect information about your progress and general health.
What does FOCUS stand for?
FOCUS stands for Fluorouracil, Oxaliplatin and (Campto) Irinotecan : Use and Sequencing.
Who is funding the trial?
The FOCUS trial is being organised and funded by the Medical Research Council. Some of irinotecan oxaliplatin are supplied free drug (pharmaceutical) companies who make these drugs. However this stock may not be used for patients outside trial. Other pharmaceutical device manufacturers providing drugs giving equipment at special prices.
