The Challenge
CancerBACUP is delighted to offer you a very special ski weekend challenge at the start of 2006.
2006 will see the 3rd MilkyWay Ski Challenge for those of you with a passion for the slopes and a taste for après-ski. The Ski Challenge will take place in the MilkyWay ski region which spans the French/Italian border including Sestriere, host venue for the 2006 Winter Olympics, and will take participants on an action packed journey down Olympic and World Championship pistes. We will aim to ski all of the pistes in the region, weather permitting, in just 2 days.
We will be based in the French resort of Montgenevre as well as skiing in the popular Italian resorts of Sestriere, Sauze D’Oulx and Claviere. You will therefore be surrounded by the ultimate skiers paradise, on top class pistes.
Experience and fitness
As with all events of this kind, a lack of training could lead to accidents. We will be ski-ing all day from the first lift up to the last available opportunity to ski down. The fitter you are, the more you will get out of it. You will ski/board in groups of 10, with one ski guide per group. Each group will contain participants of a similar level and will ski the route according to the ability of the group.
Extras you must provide
- Personal travel insurance (£35 approx)
- Gratuities
- Personal expenses (drinks, souvenirs)
- European Health Insurance Card
- Ski/boot hire + lift passes on Thursday and Sunday (approx £20 lift pass and £16 ski hire per day)

About Tall Stories
Tall Stories specialises in European adventure sports challenges. Over the past eight years they have built up an excellent reputation within the adventure sports and fundraising market, working with a variety of charities and corporate clients. Tall Stories were the first to put together a charity ski challenge. Since then they have developed numerous successful events which have allowed them to gain a wealth of experience and knowledge.
Their premise has always been that in order for an event to be successful it has to be challenge orientated, and have a strong objective. All of their events are physical challenges that involve the participant in training for the challenge.
