General information

This section contains information about supportive therapies. These therapies are given :

  • in addition to the main treatment for cancer or,
  • as part of the main treatment, for example steroids are given along with chemotherapy for some cancers (especially cancers affecting  the blood ). Also, bisphosphonates are being given to women with breast cancer, to see if they can prevent the development of secondary bone cancer (this is still in the research stage).
