Help us campaign
Would you like to help raise awareness of CancerBACUP campaigns?
The CancerBACUP press team is appealing for help with media work for upcoming campaigns. Newspaper and magazine articles are a good way of letting people know about our work – and real-life patient stories are always particularly well read. It is of great value to other people in a similar position to be able to hear or read first-hand accounts of different aspects of life with cancer.
We are looking for patients who would be willing to tell their story through the media to help us raise awareness of:
- Access to new cancer treatments
- Cancer provision in private health insurance policies.
- Waiting times from GP referral to treatment.
- The issues surrounding genetics and cancer
The charity is currently appealing for patients who have experience in any of these areas.
Talking to the media – what’s involved?
If you are thinking about volunteering to help us with media work, it is worth remembering that:
* Newspapers and magazines will often want to print a photo of you to accompany the article.
* Your full name would be used.
* You may be asked personal questions.
CancerBACUP would never give out your details without your consent. People who volunteer will always have the option of saying no to any particular request
If you would like to help, please send an outline of your experiences to Jill Morrell, PR and Campaigns Manager, CancerBACUP, 3 Bath Place, Rivington Street, London, EC2A 3JR, email [email protected] or to Michelle Rowley, PR and Campaigns Officer, email [email protected]
