Cancer in Your Language

Cancerbackup provides an interpreting service called Cancer in Your Language. It is staffed by qualified interpreters who have had training in cancer terminology and who interpret the call between the service user and the specialist Cancerbackup information nurses. This means that people can access high quality information and support in their language.

There are 12 “direct to language” numbers for the most commonly spoken community languages.

Most other community languages can also be accessed through the main freephone number, 0808 800 1234, and the nurse who answers then contacts the interpreting service to find an interpreter in the language needed.

You can order posters and cards which promote this service from our publications section.
